“Daddy, amikor nagy leszek én is ihatok sört? Mami, amikor olyan nagy leszek mint Te, nekem adod a magassarkú cipődet és a csillogós ruhádat? Daddy, amikor felnövök az enyém lehet a cipőd?”

Reménykedjünk, hogy ez az utolsó kérés nem teljesül be …. Daddy-nek 45-ös lába van. Bizony nehéz lenne női cipőt ilyen méretben találni.

“Daddy, when I grow up can I drink bear too? Mommy, when I’ll be as big as you are can I have your high heel shoes and your sparkly dress? Daddy, when I am a grown up will you give me your shoes?”

Let’s hope that this last wish doesn’t come true …. daddy’s feet are size 12 and it is pretty difficult to find women’s shoes in that size.

This week Nora made us laugh 3 times – just by saying something that she didn’t even intend to be funny.

On Monday Mark told us at dinner that Jim (his former boss) told him to tell Happy Holidays to us. Nora asked: “Did Ms. Doreen (her GYM teacher) also say that?” It took us a few seconds to understand that she thought that the GYM was sending us “his” greetings.

On Wednesday she had to finish a cup of yogurt which she had opened. When daddy saw her in front of her Advent Calendar (filled with chocolate) instead of the table he asked: “Nora, did you finish your yogurt?” She replied: “Yes.” Daddy: “Are you LYING?” Nora: “No, I am sitting.”

On Thursday I took her on a walk in the neighborhood. She pointed at a house and asked me (in Hungarian): “Mami, who lives there?” I said: “I don’t know those people.” She replied: “Then they are nervous (idegeSek).” What she meant to say was: strangers=idegeNek.

A heten Norika 3-szor is megnevettetett minket valamivel, amit nem is szant viccesnek. Az elso ketto angolul hangzott el, a harmadik magyarul.

Hetfon Mark a vacsoranal mondta nekunk, hogy a regi fonoke Jim (Dzsim) udvozol minket. Nori megkerdezte, hogy Doreen neni (a tornatanarnenije) is udvozol-e minket akkor. Egy par masodpercbe tellett mire rajottunk, hogy miert kerdezte ezt. A tornaterem angolul gym (dzsim), tehat ugyanugy van kiejtve mint a ferfi nev. Azt hitte, hogy a tornaterem kuldte udvozletet.

Szerdan kinyitott egy joghurtot, de nem akarta megenni. Mondtuk neki, hogy ha kinyitotta, akkor be kell fejeznie. Nehany perc mulva Nori az Advent naptar elott uldogelt (ami tele van csokival). Mark leszolt neki az emeletrol, hogy megette-e a joghurtot. Azt valaszolta, hogy igen. Erre Mark megkerdezte tole: Hazudsz (are you lying)? Nori valasza: nem, ulok. Ugyanis az Are you lying mondat azt is jelenti, hogy fekszel?

Csutortokon setalni mentunk este. Nori ramutatott egy hazra es megkerdezte: Ki lakik itt anyu? Azt valaszoltam, hogy nem ismerem oket. Erre Nori: akkor ok biztos idegeSek (idegenek).

Last Friday we stopped at a yard sale in our neighborhood where I found a pair of roller skates for Nora. She got very excited and tried them on right away. To my surprise she knew exactly what to do in them and we went for a walk. On Saturday she put them on, went in the backyard and in a few minutes she was sitting on top of the slide. She managed to slide down and she also finished her act with a tumble on the lawn. See pictures of her in the gallery.

Nóri pénteken kapott egy pár használt görkorcsolyát aminek nagyon megörült. Otthon rögtön fel is próbálta és azonnal tudta hogy kell használni, igy elmentünk benne sétálni is. Szombaton felvette, kiment a kertbe, és perceken belül a csúszdája tetején találtuk. Valahogy sikerült neki lecsúsznia és még ezt betetézte egy bukfenccel is a füvön. A galériában van sok kép róla.

Last night the finalists of a dancing show received a bouque of flowers each. Nora liked it and asked Mark if she could get flowers too. When Mark came home today he asked Nora to do a little dance for him and she got some gorgeous flowers.

Tegnap este egy tanc verseny nyertesei egy-egy viragcsokrot kaptak, ami nagyon tetszett Norinak. Megkerdezte Marktol, hogy o is kaphat-e. Ma Mark kerte, hogy tancoljon o is egy kicsit es azert egy gyonyoru csokor viragot kapott Nori.

Today we were getting ready to drive up to the mountains for the weekend and we told Nora yesterday that we were going to sleep there.  Nora was very anxious to leave.  We had the following conversation mid-morning:

(N)  I’d like to go.(me) Where?

To sleep.

To sleep????

Yes, to the clouds.

Did you mean the mountains?

Yes.  Can we leave now?

Ma reggel keszulodtunk arra, hogy a hegyekbe menjunk a hetvegere.  Tegnap mondtunk Norinak, hogy ott fogunk aludni.  Norcsi mar nagyon varta hogy induljunk, es delelott a kovetkezo kis beszelgetesunk volt:

(N) Szeretnek menni.

(En) Hova?

Aludni.

Aludni???

Igen.  A felhokbe.

A hegyekbe?

Igen.  Indulunk mar?

Nora has been changing topics a lot (she got this fom Mami). Today she hugged me and said: I gave you a huge hug and a kiss. …. Skunks have a smelly urine.

Norika mostanaban surun valt hirtelen temat. Ma megolelt, es azt mondta: Nagyon megoleltelek es megpusziltalak. …. A gorenyeknek budos a pisijuk.

This morning my mommy told me that she was getting a birthday massage. I told her that she didn’t have to go to a lady to get it, I would do it for her.

Ma reggel anyu mondta, hogy megy egy szuletesnapi masszazsra. Mondtam neki, hogy ne menjen a nenihez, mert megmaszirozom en ot.

Nora has been noticing every little noise.  She told me (in Hungarian): I’ve heard your belly, it squeeked.

Nori nagyon felfigyel minden zajra mostanaban.  ma azt mondta nekem, hogy “Hallottam a pocidat, nyikorgott.”

Mark taught Nora to say What’s Up and hit their fists together.  Nora said Hich up instead.

Mark megtanitotta Norinak hogy koszonnek neha az emberek az okluk osszeutesevel.  Azt mondjak hogy Mi a helyzet, de Nori helyette azt mondta hogy Csuklas.

Nora freaked out today when I told her that I was going to have fish for lunch.  She said: “Mami, please don’t eat my (gold)fish.”

Nori nagyon megijedt, amikor azt mondtam neki, hogy halat eszem ebedre.  Azt mondta: “Mami, ne edd meg az (arany) halaimat”.
