Today I was so busy! I especially enjoyed painting with blue and purple. I also enjoyed playing “What’s missing?”
I was challenged by sorting foods. It’s hard to know which foods come from animals and which come from plants.
Ma nagyon elfoglalt voltam! Leginkabb a festes tetszett ma, kek is lila szinekkel. Az a jatek is tetszett hogy “Mi hianyzik?”
Nehezemre esett az etelek csoportositasa. Nehez azt tudnom, hogy melyik etel jon allatoktol, es melyik novenyektol.

Nora, 2 years and 6 months February 27, 2007
It has been such a joy to watch Nora grow over the past year. Looking back I remember a young girl very eager to please and very demanding of individual attention. “Ms. Angie! Ms. Angie!”, echoed from all corners of the classroom as Nora made new discoveries. Now I see a brilliant young girl joining in the classroom discoveries with her peers and having true and friendly exchanges like, “Taryn, May I have the mirror?” “Thank you Taryn…open your mouth to see your teeth.” She is creative, kind and quite entertaining. Thank you for sharing her with me so long!
Strengths: Nora is academically strong. She shows skills and abilities above average for her age. We’ve seen an increase in independence this past grading period as well as a new found ability to play with friends instead of playing near them. Nora is counting beautifully and regularly (though not 100% of the time) uses proper one to one correspondence. Nora is also asking new and leading questions about language and her environment. She’s a model pre-schooler.
Challenges: Nora has to be reminded to participate in group activities. Often we see Nora taking an observant role during more formal learning times and she can resist joining in songs, routines, and patterning. Although we have seen great progress with her language and speaking skills Nora is still difficult to understand at times which is a source of frustration for her (but not a concern to me….her speech challenges are very age appropriate.)
Goals: My goals for Nora include continued work on math skills like one to one correspondence, quantity and patterning. I’ll introduce last name recognition to her learning day and continue to give her verbal and non-verbal encouragement to join in group learning activities. Nora will also have the opportunity to learn new shapes like semi-circle, trapezoid, pentagon and hexagon. Nora is a wonderful student and a joy to learn with, I could not be more pleased.

Today was a great day for learning. I learned that my friends get upset when I don’t share the toys.
I also learned how to blow my own nose.
I made some new discoveries, for example: germs make us sick so covering a sneeze can stop germs from spreading.

I am an active learner! Today I even helped to feed “Blueberry” the fish.
I counted to 11 with 1 to 1 correspondence and sang a bit of our “pink” song.
I also tried to balance on a large ball and I kept trying even when I fell off.

I was an excellent student today! I enjoyed singing with the class and counting for all the children. I made it to 14 using 1 to 1 correspondence by touching our counting wand to number cards. WOW!
I also gave thought to caring for my peers. I brought Brody a tissue when he sneezed and helped him to wipe his nose.

I was an excellent student today! I enjoyed meeting and talking to Piper (Ms. Angie’s dog). I also used our “magic” wand to count to 10.
I also gave thought to speaking nicely to peers. Instead of “mine!” I can say “Please wait, it’s my turn now.”

I was an excellent student today! I enjoyed drawing curves and circles with shaving cream, building sand castles and drinking purple milk.
I also gave some thought to following directions. I adventured into the gym alone today when I was sent to was my hands. My friend Brody joined me. Ms. Angie had us sit out.

I gave a 100% today! I was very involved in painting and making playdough creations. I helped my Friend Taryn put on her necklace.
I wanted to further explore that apple salad – yum!
